At least 10 people have lost their lives in a tragic road accident that occurred at Offinso Samproso in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday , January 7, 2026, around 5:30 a.m. Several others sustained severe injuries.
According to reports, a bus traveling from Navrongo collided with a cement-laden truck.
Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding may have caused the crash.
Eyewitnesses said the bus rammed into the middle of the truck as it was crossing the road from a nearby cement factory, leading to the fatal impact.
The injured victims were rushed to Offinso St. Patrick Hospital and other nearby medical facilities for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the St. Patrick Hospital mortuary.
Police have begun investigations into the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
