110 Persons with Disabilities Benefit from Bodi District Assembly Support

A total of 110 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have received support from the Bodi District Assembly to enhance their livelihoods.

The beneficiaries were presented with various items, including refrigerators, sewing machines, food pounding machines, and hair dryers. In addition, some received cash support to enable them to pay school fees and settle medical bills.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bodi, Mr. Stephen Baidoo, commended the government for increasing the Disability Fund allocation, which he described as impressive. He noted that although successive governments had played their part in the past, the current administration has expanded the number of beneficiaries.

Mr. John Azuma, the District Director of Social Welfare, explained the guidelines used in selecting beneficiaries. He assured that those who could not benefit this time would be considered in subsequent disbursements.

The Chairman of the Persons with Disabilities in Bodi, Mr. James Nkansah, expressed appreciation to the government for increasing the fund. He, however, appealed for the timely release of the funds to ensure that more people benefit on time to improve their living conditions.
