The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Suaman, Mr. Vasco Obour, has revealed plans to establish a 24-hour economic market in Dadieso to boost local trade and economic growth.
According to Mr. Obour, the initiative forms part of a national policy direction led by the President, which mandates all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to implement the 24-hour economy model aimed at increasing production, creating jobs, and enhancing livelihoods.
Speaking during a community engagement at Karlo electoral area, Mr. Obour emphasized that Suaman District is fully prepared to roll out the initiative. He stated that the Dadieso market would be transformed into a 24-hour trading hub, with special attention to infrastructure and safety.
He disclosed that the new night market will be strategically situated at the current transport station to facilitate easy access and movement of goods and people, especially during the night. The facility will also include a CHPS compound and a security post to ensure healthcare and safety services are readily available to traders and customers after dark.
This 24-hour market will significantly boost economic activities in the district and create employment opportunities for the youth and women, he noted.
In addition to the market project, Mr. Obour reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to accelerating development in the area. He assured residents of ongoing plans to reshape deplorable roads, construct new schools, establish additional CHPS compounds for quality healthcare delivery, and provide potable water to underserved communities.
He concluded by calling on residents to support the Assembly’s efforts and to continue praying for the success of development initiatives in the Suaman District.
