The Juaboso–Boinzan town road has long been a burden for residents of both communities, as the project remains uncompleted years after its commencement.
Construction of the road began in 2020, but work has stalled despite several changes in contractors. In 2022, the project was re-awarded to Buadac Construction Limited, yet progress has remained slow, leaving residents frustrated by the poor state of the road and the dust affecting daily life.
During an interview with Legendreport.com, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Juaboso, Alexander Adu Quist, addressed the concerns surrounding the project. Speaking with reporter Emmanuel Sowah, Mr. Adu Quist disclosed that the contractor has not received any payment for the work done so far.
According to him, the contractor has submitted several certificates for completed work to the Ministry of Roads and Highways, but payment has not yet been processed. He noted that the Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has engaged both the contractor and the ministry to expedite the payment process.
“The road ministry is currently working on the certificates raised by the contractor, and we expect payment to be made soon,” Mr. Quist explained.
He further revealed that the scope of the Juaboso–Boinzan town road project extends beyond initial expectations, with additional sections identified for construction. The DCE assured residents that the Juaboso District Assembly, the Member of Parliament, and the government remain committed to ensuring the project is fully completed to improve transportation and living conditions in the area.
