Move Amstrong Richard, the current Deputy Leader, NPP Western North Regional Communications, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Regional Communication Officer in the party’s upcoming internal elections scheduled for next year. His announcement has generated considerable excitement among party faithful and grassroots communicators across the region.
Amstrong, born on June 29, 1984, brings extensive experience and a deep grasp of grassroots mobilization, political messaging, and regional engagement. His candidacy is viewed by many as a continuation of his unwavering commitment to the NPP, especially in the critical field of political communication.
As a trained professional teacher, Amstrong has been in the education sector since 2004. His background in teaching, combined with his degree in English Language from the University of Cape Coast (U.C.C), gives him a unique ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively—both in the classroom and in political circles.
Having lived in the Western North Region for the past 20 years—spending 11 years in Bibiani and 9 years in Sefwi Wiawso—he has become deeply rooted in the local communities. His understanding of the region’s culture, language, and people provides him with a strong foundation for tailored political messaging and public engagement.
Amstrong Officially joined the NPP in 2004 and has held several positions at the grassroots level. Notably, he served as a polling station organizer at the Labour Office polling station in Bibiani in both 2004 and 2008, before becoming the polling station chairman for the Ahodjo–Bibiani Estate area.
In 2011, Amstrong was appointed as a Communication officer for the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency, continuing from Zimbo’s tenure. Since then, he has remained an integral part of the Western North Regional Communication Team and the Sefwi Wiawso Communication Team.
His current dual role at the regional and constituency levels has positioned him as a reliable bridge between grassroots members and the regional party hierarchy. This strong bond with the base has made his declaration widely welcomed and endorsed across multiple NPP structures.
Colleagues and political observers alike describe Amstrong as a disciplined, articulate, and passionate communicator who consistently defends the party’s values, policies, and achievements. His elevation to Deputy Regional Communication leader solidified his place as a key voice within the NPP’s communication setup in Western North.
As the party gears up for its crucial internal elections, Amstrong’s entry into the race is expected to energize supporters and set the tone for a renewed and dynamic communication agenda. With a proven track record, strong party loyalty, and unmatched grassroots appeal, many believe Amstrong Richard is well-positioned to lead the NPP’s communication front to greater success ahead of the 2028 general elections.
