Aowin MP Visits Traditional Council After Reconciliation, Calls for Development

The Member of Parliament for Aowin Constituency, Oscar Ofori Larbi, has paid a courtesy visit to the Aowin Traditional Council following a successful reconciliation with the traditional authorities.

The visit, which took place on Sunday, April 5, 2026 (Easter Sunday), was to express gratitude to the chiefs and elders (Nananom) for forgiving him and restoring unity between him and the traditional leadership.

About a week ago, it was reported that the traditional authorities had lifted a ban, including rituals and curses that had been placed on the MP. At the time of the ritual performance, the MP was absent and was represented by some party executives.

Speaking with legendreport , Oscar Ofori Larbi admitted that the misunderstanding stemmed from a comment he made that did not sit well with the traditional authorities. He noted that he has since apologized and expressed appreciation for their forgiveness.

He emphasized that with the reconciliation achieved, the focus must now shift to development in Aowin. He also called on his supporters to refrain from any actions that could disrespect traditional authorities.

Nananom are like fathers to me. I cannot fight my father and win. Now that there is peace, we must all come together to develop Aowin,” he stated.

The MP further assured that he would work closely with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), regional authorities, and Nananom to bring development to the area.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional authorities, Nana Kwadwo Ntow, Chief of Enchi Nkwanta, confirmed that the MP’s visit was to show appreciation after the reconciliation. He explained that both the MP and the Omanhene, Beyeeman Tano Kwao Benbuin III, were not present when the reconciliation rituals were performed, as they were away at the time.

He added that the MP took advantage of the Easter break to visit the paramountcy and formally thank the Omanhene and Nananom.

Oscar is our son. We have no issues with him again. We will support him anytime he calls on us for development, Nana Kwadwo Ntow stated.

Also speaking, Nana Kwame Asare Bimpong, Mbrantehene of the Aowin Traditional Council, who played a key role in the reconciliation process, expressed appreciation to the chiefs for forgiving the MP.

He noted that the renewed unity is a positive sign for development in Aowin and commended the MP for taking the necessary steps to apologize.

He further called on the youth to support both the traditional authorities and the MP in driving development across the municipality.

The unity we are witnessing today is important. The youth must support this peace so that development can thrive in Aowin,” he urged.

The reconciliation is widely seen as a major step toward fostering peace and accelerating development in the Aowin area.
