The Aowin Traditional Council has formally reconciled with the Member of Parliament for Aowin, Oscar Ofori Larbi, bringing an end to a prolonged dispute that lasted nearly two years.
The conflict originated from remarks made by the MP in the media, which the Council considered damaging to their credibility and integrity. The situation escalated between the MP and traditional confrontation, including the performance of customary rites to symbolically banish the MP from the land.
Several mediation efforts involving the National Democratic Congress constituency leadership, regional executives in the Western North Region, and even parliamentary figures failed to yield immediate resolution. Although the MP issued a public apology, it was initially rejected by the Traditional Council.

However, speaking on behalf of the Council on March 28, 2026, at the palace, Nana Kwadwo Ntow announced a breakthrough. He stated that after extensive deliberations involving Nananom, the Council of Elders, and key stakeholders, the Council has accepted the MP’s apology.
Every dispute has an end. We have resolved all differences and chosen unity for the development of Aowin,” he declared.
The Council emphasized that it holds no further grievances against the MP and is committed to working collaboratively toward the development of the constituency.
In a significant traditional gesture, Nana Oppong Payin III performed rites to revoke all curses and the symbolic banishment previously imposed on the MP, effectively restoring relations.

Representing the party and regional leadership, Robert Kwaw Andoh, Deputy Director of Elections/IT for Aowin NDC, expressed gratitude to the Traditional Council for their forgiveness. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment, alongside the MP, to work closely with traditional authorities to advance development in Aowin.
He also commended stakeholders and party executives for their roles in facilitating the reconciliation and called for sustained unity in the constituency.
