Asawinso Development Associate Donates GHC 10,300 Worth of Items to Local Hospital

The Asawinso Development Associate, based in Sefwi Asawinso in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal, has made a generous donation to the Asawinso Government Hospital to support healthcare delivery in the area.

Prophet Wisdom Aha, the general secretary of the association, stated that the donation was motivated by a recent visit to the hospital during which they observed the pressing needs of the facility.

He emphasized that as an association committed to the welfare of the people, it was necessary for them to step in and offer assistance. The items donated include a 43-inch flat-screen television, 34 customized bedspreads, 20 curtains, mops, 50 sachets of water, and other essential items. Prophet Aha revealed that the association spent a total of GHC 10,300 on the donation.

He used the occasion to appeal to the management of the hospital to consider the financial challenges of the local farming community and to make healthcare services more accessible and affordable. “Many people are reluctant to visit the hospital due to financial constraints,” he said, “so it is important that management considers this and implements measures that are meaningful and helpful to the community.”Prophet Aha also called on individuals and organizations to contribute in any way they can to support the hospital.

He stressed that although the government built the hospital, it is the responsibility of individuals and groups to help maintain and improve its services. He encouraged the hospital staff to maintain a high level of professionalism, noting that the attitude of health workers can either attract or drive away patients. “Without patients, the facility is of no use,” he added.

Prophet Aha also made a passionate appeal to the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and the government to support the hospital with a theatre facility. He expressed concern that the hospital currently operates without a theatre, which negatively affects healthcare delivery.

Dr. Eric Manso, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, expressed his gratitude to the association for their support. He confirmed that the association visited the hospital, recognized its needs, and has now fulfilled its promise.

We are truly grateful for this support,Dr. Manso said. We assure the association that the items will be put to good use. We also appeal to other individuals and organizations to come to the aid of the hospital whenever they can, as it is a facility meant to serve the entire community.”Dr. Manso encouraged residents to visit the hospital for any health concerns and promised that the facility is open to assist them at all times.
