The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Juaboso, Alexander Adu Quist, has made a shocking revelation concerning the ongoing construction of the Benchemaa Barrier to Juaboso Nkwanta road.
According to the DCE, the contractor currently working on the project has no clearly defined scope of work. He disclosed that the contractor does not even have the total kilometer measurement of the road to be constructed.
Mr. Adu Quist explained that although the contractor is already on site, the absence of an approved scope of work has delayed progress on the project.
He further revealed that he, together with the Minister of Health and the contractor, has visited the Ministry of Roads and Highways to facilitate documentation and address the challenges facing the project.
The DCE assured residents that all necessary documents will soon be completed to enable the contractor to continue the work confidently. He also mentioned that officials from the Roads Ministry are expected to visit the construction site soon.
Mr. Adu Quist gave assurance to the people of Juaboso that, based on his discussions with the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the project will eventually be executed as planned.
The Benchemaa Barrier–Juaboso Nkwanta road, awarded to a contractor in 2024, has been progressing at a very slow pace, making travel difficult for commuters. The road serves as a major link between Sefwi Wiawso Municipality and Juaboso District, and its poor state continues to pose challenges to residents and motorists.
