Asantewaa Chelsea Fidas has been crowned the Overall Best Graduate Student of the 2024 graduating class of Bia Lamplighter College of Education.
Speaking to Legendreport, Asantewaa shared her story, motivation, and the challenges she overcame to reach this milestone. She revealed that she first wrote the WASSCE in 2016 but did not pass. Determined to change her story, she reorganized herself, studied harder, and this time passed with flying colors.
She was later admitted to Bia Lamplighter College of Education, where she promised herself to work hard and one day become the best student. That dream has now become a reality.
Asantewaa disclosed that her childhood dream was to become a medical doctor, but that aspiration did not materialize. However, she found new motivation when she realized that she could still “become a doctor through education” by excelling academically and furthering her studies.
In an emotional revelation, she shared that no one in her family had ever attained a high level of education. She, therefore, made it a personal mission to break that barrier, and by God’s grace, she has achieved it.
She acknowledged that it is not easy for females to reach such heights, especially in environments dominated by males, but with courage, hard work, and determination, anything is possible. She encouraged all young women to believe in themselves, work hard, and stay focused on their goals.
Asantewaa graduated with First Class Honours in Early Grade Education and was named the Overall Best Student of the 2024 graduating class of Bia Lamplighter College of Education.
