The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly has reshaped the Humjebre–Akwaso road to improve transportation and enhance safety for road users.
The Humjebre–Akwaso road is one of the busiest routes linking Bekwai and the Amenfi West District. For years, the stretch has been in a deplorable state, making travel difficult for residents, traders, and transport operators from communities such as Baakokrom, Humjebre, and Akwaso. The poor condition of the road has also made it a hotspot for armed robbery attacks, putting commuters and traders at risk.
Recently, some traders were attacked by armed robbers along the stretch, prompting the Municipal Chief Executive for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Sebastian Obeng, to mobilize resources and use a grader to reshape the road. The intervention is intended to make the road more motorable and help reduce robbery incidents until a full construction contract is awarded.
Drivers and residents who use the Humjebre–Akwaso road have commended the Municipal Assembly for the intervention. They said the reshaping will ease their movement, protect vehicles from frequent breakdowns, and help curb robbery attacks on the stretch.
