Bibiani Circuit Court jails self-styled Mallam, accomplices 30 years each

The Bibiani Circuit Court, presided over by His Highness Frank Asiedu Nimako Esq., has sentenced a self-acclaimed Mallam, Victor Biney, 28, and two accomplices to 30 years’ imprisonment each for a series of criminal offences.

Biney, described by police as a notorious criminal operating within the Juaboso jurisdiction, was convicted alongside Appiah Christopher, 22, and Tijani Seidu, 20, following their arrest in connection with an attempted robbery and attempted murder syndicate.

The three were charged with six counts: conspiracy to commit a crime; robbery; unlawful entry; attempted robbery; possession of a firearm or ammunition without lawful authority; and abetment of a crime, all committed at Sehwi Juaboso in the Western NorthRegion.

Counsel for the accused, John Abuga, appealed to the court to temper justice with mercy, citing the young ages of his clients. However, the prosecutor, George Asante Noye, urged the court to impose a deterrent sentence in view of the rising crime rate in the area.

After considering submissions from both sides, the court sentenced the convicts to 30 years’ imprisonment each.
Meanwhile, Victor Biney is facing additional charges in separate cases, including alleged robbery and stealing, pending before the Bodi Circuit Court and another case at the Bibiani Circuit Court.

He is scheduled to appear before the Bodi Circuit Court on January 22, 2026, and again at the Bibiani Circuit Court on February 20, 2026.
