The Sefwi Bodi Circuit Court in the Western North Region has remanded a self-acclaimed Mallam and suspected armed robber, identified as Victor Biney, popularly known as Abeiku, for his alleged involvement in a violent robbery attack on miners at Sefwi Antobia in the Juaboso District.

The suspect was remanded on December 18, 2025, by the presiding judge, His Honour Frank Asiedu Nimako, after the court denied a bail application filed by his lawyer. He is expected to reappear before the court on January 15, 2026.

Biney, who is well known in Juaboso and its surrounding communities, reportedly presents himself as a spiritualist, claiming to provide “black powers” and protection charms for young men and women against gun and cutlass attacks.
According to police sources, his arrest came about a month after he was linked to a violent robbery incident at a mining site in Sefwi Antobia. Investigations further connected him to several other robberies within the Juaboso enclave, including a daylight robbery in which one person was shot dead and large sums of money were stolen from a wholesale shop.

Meanwhile, the suspect also has another pending criminal case before the Bibiani Circuit Court, which is scheduled for judgment on December 22, 2025.
The Juaboso District Police Command has assured the public that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other accomplices believed to be part of Biney’s criminal network.
