Classic Association Launched to Drive Development in Kwawu

Enchi Kwawu, Aowin Municipality – Western North Region
A new youth-led group known as the Classic Association has been officially launched in Enchi Kwawu with the aim of fostering development and unity in the community.

The association, formed by passionate and concerned youth of the area, is committed to addressing the lack of development in Enchi Kwawu, which they attribute largely to disunity and lack of coordination among the youth.

Speaking at the launch, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Ebenezer Meisu, emphasized that the primary goal of the group is to prioritize the well-being of residents while tackling key developmental challenges facing the community.

“Malaria continues to be a major health issue here due to poor sanitation. The Classic Association is taking the initiative to organize regular clean-up exercises to promote a healthier environment and reduce mosquito breeding,” Mr. Meisu noted.

He also revealed that the association will collaborate with health professionals to sensitize the public on good hygiene practices and preventive healthcare.

Additionally, the association has outlined plans to support brilliant but needy students to continue their education, believing that education is a vital tool for long-term development.

Some female members of the association also raised concerns about the social effects of mining activities in the area. According to them, the rise in teenage pregnancy and school dropouts is alarming and needs urgent attention.

“This platform will enable us to educate young girls and boys about adolescent health, personal protection, and the importance of education,” a member said.

Nana Anthony Cujoe, who spoke on behalf of Nana Tano Kabaah II, warmly welcomed the formation of the Classic Association and commended the youth for their bold initiative. He urged the leadership of the association to stay true to their promises and not disappoint the members and the larger community.

He emphasized that the association’s vision is commendable, and with unity and consistency, they can bring lasting change to Enchi Kwawu. “This is a great beginning,” he said. “Remain united, stay committed, and you will transform this community for the better.”

The Classic Association hopes to become a strong force for positive change, promoting unity, health, education, and youth empowerment in Enchi Kwawu.
