The Director of the Mineral Titles Department at the Minerals Commission, Ing. Frank Asare, has cautioned executives and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against abusing political power.
According to him, elections in Ghana are conducted every four years, and political leaders must remember that the actions they take while in power can have consequences in the next election cycle. He stressed that Ghanaians are closely observing the conduct of party executives and members.
Ing. Asare expressed concern that some individuals allegedly use their political influence to engage in activities that bypass the proper legal processes. He noted that certain actions being carried out in the name of authority could damage public trust in leadership.

He cited cases where some people allegedly cut down trees, destroy farms belonging to individuals, and engage in illegal mining activities, popularly known as galamsey, on lands without the consent of the rightful owners. Such actions, he said, undermine the rule of law and the rights of citizens.
He warned that these practices could have serious political and social consequences in the future if they are not addressed promptly.

He therefore called on party executives and faithful who may be involved in such acts to desist immediately and follow the right procedures in their activities to protect the image and credibility of the party.
