The youth of Enchi have come together to organise a solemn candlelight vigil in memory of the late Bonah Isaac, popularly known as Bona Ray, who was a respected morning show host at Max FM. The event took place ahead of his final funeral rites, drawing a large crowd of mourners who gathered to pay tribute to the fallen media personality.
The vigil was held as a symbol of love, remembrance, and appreciation for Bona Ray’s immense contributions to the development and progress of the Aowin Municipality. Youth leaders and community members lit candles and observed moments of silence to reflect on his legacy and the positive impact he made through his work in the media.

Bona Ray was known for his bold and impactful journalism, always serving as a voice for the voiceless in Aowin and beyond. His morning show was a platform where pressing issues were addressed, and he was highly regarded for his dedication, professionalism, and deep connection to the people.
Tragically, Bona Ray lost his life in a fatal road accident on June 6, 2025, at Takoradi Kojokrom when a timber truck ran over his vehicle. The news of his passing shook the region and left a deep void in the media landscape of the Western North Region.

His body was preserved at the Agyapa Funeral Home Mortuary, where family, friends, colleagues, and sympathisers have been visiting to express their condolences. The family, management of Max FM, and the Western North Journalists Association have scheduled his final funeral rites from August 1 to August 3, 2025.
As part of the funeral arrangements, Bona Ray’s body was taken to the premises of Max FM for public viewing, a moment that drew tears from fans, colleagues, and listeners who admired him during his lifetime. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, August 2.
The candlelight vigil held by the Enchi youth served not only as a farewell but as a celebration of a life well lived. The glowing candles symbolised hope, unity, and the enduring memory of a man who dedicated his life to informing, educating, and inspiring his community.
