The family of the late Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, paid a courtesy call on the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban S. K. Bagbin, to officially announce his passing and formally communicate the dates for his funeral rites.
The Speaker, in an emotional response, recalled his last conversation with Ambassador Yalley, just days before his passing. He emphasised the importance of preserving Ambassador Yalley’s legacy for future generations, describing him as a unique leader with courage, clarity, and conviction. The Speaker assured the family of his presence during the final funeral rites.
The Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahuma Djietror, paid tribute to the late Ambassador, describing him as a principled man who was forthright and committed to national development. In his remarks, Hon. Kofi Attor, Chief of Staff at the Office of the Speaker, highlighted Ambassador Yalley’s remarkable public service journey, from the Consultative Assembly of 1991 to various leadership roles, including DCE for Cape Coast, CEO of NPRA, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, and Ghana’s Ambassador to India. He was also credited with spearheading the formation of the Professionals -Forum.

Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, Majority Chief Whip and member of the Professionals Forum, praised Ambassador Yalley’s efforts in bringing professionals into the NDC party and described his death as a great loss to both his family and the party.
