Today, we pause to honour a special group of individuals whose strength, guidance, and resilience often go uncelebrated — our fathers.
On behalf of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth wing in the Western North Region, I extend warm Father’s Day wishes to all fathers, caregivers, and men who continue to play positive roles in the lives of their children, families, and communities.
Fathers are more than providers. They are role models, mentors, and the steady hands that guide us through life’s challenges. In many homes across our region, fathers work tirelessly, not only to meet physical needs but to instill discipline, compassion, and a sense of responsibility in their children.
As a youth organiser, I am especially aware of how a father’s presence and encouragement can shape the future of a young person. I urge all fathers and male role models to continue being beacons of hope and leadership. Your influence is essential in building a generation that values integrity, service, and unity.
Let us also remember and celebrate the fathers we have lost, whose memories continue to inspire us, and acknowledge the single mothers and guardians who fill both roles with grace and courage.
May this day inspire all of us — leaders, parents, and citizens — to support the well-being of families and the protection of fatherhood as a cornerstone of a healthy society.
