Former Bia West District Chief Executive and CEO of Adjoafua based Agooha 93.7 FM, Hon. Bernard Gyebi Blay, has expressed deep sorrow following a tragic accident that claimed seven lives near Asikuma, close to Debiso, in the Bia West District.
The victims, believed to be farmers from Asuopri — a small community near Debiso — were heading to their farms in the Adabokrom forest when the aboboyaa tricycle they were travelling on was run over by a timber truck. All seven passengers reportedly died on the spot.
Reacting to the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post, Hon. Gyebi Blay wrote:
“My heart goes out to the families who lost 7 loved ones in today’s Adabokrom forest accident. Life is fragile, moments are memories. May the memories of those gone bring strength in this tough time. May God comfort the grieving families.”
He further called on authorities and road users to prioritize safety to prevent such tragedies in the future.
Investigations into the accident are said to be ongoing.
