Frederick Asante Extends Best Wishes to BECE Candidates in Western North Region

By Emmanuel Sowah

As Junior High School students across Ghana prepare to write their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), Mr. Frederick Asante has sent warm wishes to all candidates in the Western North Region.

Mr. Asante emphasized that the examination is a critical time to test one’s faith and confidence as a student. He reminded candidates that exams are not a punishment, but a preparation for the next stage of their lives, encouraging them to believe in themselves and to face their challenges bravely and courageously.

He likened the BECE to regular terminal exams taken in school, urging students to put aside fear and panic. Instead, they should remain calm, read and understand questions carefully, and answer based on what they have been taught in the classroom.

Mr. Asante stressed the importance of discipline, obedience to examination rules, and focus during this period. He strongly warned students against using foreign materials, commonly known as apor, explaining that reliance on such materials only causes confusion and can negatively impact their performance.

In addition, Mr. Asante appealed to teachers and invigilators to uphold examination regulations by supporting students without causing unnecessary pressure or frustration. He warned against sending or encouraging the use of unauthorized materials, which could confuse students and lead to cancellation of their papers.

Parents were also reminded of their vital role during the examination period. They are encouraged to provide their children with the necessary materials and to offer daily encouragement as the students return home after their exams.

Mr. Asante wished all BECE candidates success and prayed for God’s guidance to grant them strong memory retention and calmness as they write their exams.
