Asawinso A, a fast-growing community in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, is set to witness a major improvement in healthcare delivery.
The community’s existing CHPS compound has long been inadequate to meet the health needs of its expanding population. To upgrade the facility to full health center status, new infrastructure is required.
In a show of commitment, GRT Mining Company and the Asawinso Development Association (Nkɛsoa Kuo) are jointly funding the construction of new male and female wards, administrative offices, and a bungalow for a physician assistant. The project is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

The Municipal Health Director, Mr. Oheneba Oppong Daakor, has pledged to post a physician assistant to the community once suitable accommodation is available. He also appealed to individuals and NGOs to contribute to strengthening healthcare in their respective areas.
Assembly Member for the Asawinso A Electoral Area, Mr. Frank Ackah Nelson, assured residents of their readiness to provide housing for the incoming health worker and encouraged community members to contribute, whether in cash, materials, or labor, towards the project’s completion.

Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Sebastian Obeng, reaffirmed the assembly’s commitment to improving healthcare, emphasizing that Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai is a key business hub where a strong healthcare system is vital to economic growth.
