Heavy rainstorm rips off roofs of Electoral Commission, Fire Service and other offices in Juaboso

A heavy rainstorm has ripped off the roofs of the Juaboso offices of the Electoral Commission, the Ghana National Fire Service, and several other public institutions in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

The downpour, accompanied by strong winds, caused extensive damage to several buildings, leaving parts of the affected offices exposed.

The rainstorm started in the evening and lasted for several hours yesterday. The strong winds caused torn sheets to be blown against buildings and scatter them across the area.

Among the affected institutions were the Juaboso Electoral Commission office, the Ghana National Fire Service office, and some nearby offices and structures. Properties were damaged, though no deaths were reported.

The Juaboso District NADMO director, Dennis Owusu Ansah says he had a distress call that the EC and GNFS offices’ roofs had been ripped off. Together with his team, he rushed to the scene and confirmed the same.

The NADMO director says he cannot count the damages because it’s a holiday and those offices are closed.
