The accident claimed the lives of several high-profile government officials and military officers, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
The incident, which has sent shockwaves across the nation, also took the lives of six other dedicated public servants: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, Samuel Sarpong, and Samuel Aboagye. Their passing has been described as a monumental loss to Ghana’s governance, security, and development efforts.

Mr. Djibo and the Western North NDC Teachers’ Forum joined Ghanaians in honoring the President’s declaration of three days of national mourning.
