In a Press statement:Minister Dismisses Daily Times Report as Baseless Propaganda

The attention of the Office of the Western North Regional Minister, Mr. Wilbert Petty Brentum, has been drawn to a misleading publication in the Daily Times under the headline: “Election Promise Broken: Western North Residents Slam NDC Government over Few Developments.”

We wish to state categorically that this publication is nothing but pure political propaganda emanating from the opposition party, and not a reflection of the true sentiments of the good people of the Western North Region.

The NDC government has been in office for only seven months. Within this short period, the government, through the Regional Coordinating Council, has outlined concrete measures to address pressing developmental needs—particularly in the area of road infrastructure. Several key road networks have already been advertised for construction under the Big Push Road Project. Additionally, urban roads in selected towns have been earmarked for construction.

Beyond road projects, the government is also set to roll out other major initiatives, including:

Road traffic management measures

Establishment of a cocoa processing factory at Punikrom

Upgrading and expanding government hospitals

Extension of electrification to rural communities

Improvement of mobile network coverage in underserved areas

Construction of an ultra-modern market

And other infrastructure projects that will commence in due course

It is important to emphasize that initiating these projects follows due procedure, and the government is diligently working to ensure their smooth commencement. We therefore urge our people to exercise patience, as the NDC government delivers not empty promises, but tangible results.

We further caution the public not to be swayed by politically motivated statements from the opposition NPP—a party that held power for eight years without delivering any significant development to the Western North Region.

The NDC government is committed to serving the best interests of the people of Western North. Positive signs of our development agenda will soon be evident across the region.

Long live the Western North Region.
Long live Ghana.

Signed:
Mr. Benjamin Afram Kwabena
Spokesperson to the Regional Minister
Office of the Regional Minister
Western North Region
