Ing. Frank Asare Denies Involvement in Galamsey, Warns Against Misuse of His Name

The Director of the Mineral Titles Department at the Minerals Commission,Ing Frank Asare Esq, has cautioned individuals who are allegedly using his name to engage in illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, to immediately desist from the act.

According to him, he has no involvement in any form of mining activity, including illegal mining operations, and has not authorized anyone to use his name to acquire mining concessions or conduct mining activities on his behalf.

Ing.Asare explained that some individuals are falsely claiming to have connections with him in order to carry out illegal mining activities, a situation he described as misleading and unlawful.
He therefore urged members of the public to disregard such claims and remain vigilant against people who attempt to use his name to influence mining-related activities.

Speaking in an interview on Beat FM, Mr. Asare emphasized that anyone found using his name to engage in galamsey should be reported to the police for immediate arrest and prosecution.

He further stressed that illegal mining continues to pose a serious threat to the environment and the country’s natural resources, and called on the public to support authorities in the fight against galamsey.
