Ishallah FC Sink Aowin Hotspurs in Zone 4B Season Opener

Bonsu Nkwanta-based Ishallah FC kicked off their Western Region Division Two League campaign in style with a commanding 2–0 victory over Aowin Hotspurs at the Mampiobo Sports Complex.

The clash, which served as the season opener in Zone 4B, saw Ishallah FC extend their dominance over Aowin Hotspurs, maintaining their impressive record since joining the Division Two League in the Juaboso District.

The game was fiercely contested from start to finish, with both sides displaying quality football and strong determination. The breakthrough came in the 78th minute when a miscommunication between the Aowin Hotspurs goalkeeper and his defenders allowed Ishallah to take the lead. Former Sefwi All Stars forward, Neymar, sealed the victory in the 86th minute with a fine strike to secure a 2–0 win for Ishallah.

Referee Pascal officiated the match with authority and fairness, earning praise from the fans for his excellent performance throughout the encounter.

Earlier in the day, Nkwantaman United faced Alpha Stars from Sefwi Boidi in the opening fixture. The game, handled by Referee Eto’o from Sefwi Afere, kicked off at 1:40 pm. Alpha Stars drew first blood within two minutes after being awarded a penalty, but Nkwantaman United quickly responded with a spot kick of their own to level the score at 1–1 before halftime.

Nkwantaman United dominated the second half, creating several chances and eventually grabbing the winner to claim a 2–1 victory despite playing as the away team.

Football fans turned out in large numbers at the Mampiobo Sports Complex to witness the exciting double-header, which provided plenty of entertainment and drama.

After the first round of matches, Ishallah FC top the Zone 4B standings with three points and a +2 goal difference. Nkwantaman United sit second with three points and a +1 goal difference, followed by Alpha Stars and Aowin Hotspurs, who are yet to secure a point. Sefwi Royals remain at the bottom, having been on standby for the opening fixtures.

The next round of matches is scheduled for Sunday at the same venue. Nkwantaman United will face Sefwi Royals at 1:00 pm, while Ishallah FC take on Alpha Stars at 3:00 pm. Aowin Hotspurs will be on standby.
