The Ivorian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Assielou Felix Tanon, has paid a historic visit to the Aowin Traditional Council in the Western North Region.
The ambassador described his visit to the Anyi Kingdom as a significant historical event that has brought him closer to the Paramount Chief of the Anyi Kingdom and the people of Aowin.

During his visit on December 27, 2025, at Enchi the heart of the Anyi Kingdom H.E. Tanon revealed that he traces his ancestral roots to the Anyi Kingdom of Aowin. According to him, historical accounts indicate that their ancestors were siblings, with two settling in Ivory Coast and one remaining in Enchi.

He added that the people of Ivory Coast and those of the Anyi Kingdom in Ghana share a common language, Ebrosa, and deep cultural connections.
The ambassador stated that his visit was aimed at tracing his lineage and reconnecting with his family. He expressed joy for the warm reception and pledged to foster unity between the people of the Anyi Kingdom and those in Ivory Coast.

He also called on the people to live in peace, love, and unity while working together for the development of the area.
H.E. Tanon further assured the chiefs and people of Aowin of his commitment to supporting developmental initiatives within the kingdom.

The President of the Aowin Traditional Council, Nana Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, commended the ambassador for the visit, describing it as a remarkable reunion of families separated by history. He recounted that in 1967, a king of Aowin attempted to trace their ancestral ties in Ivory Coast, but the effort could not materialize.

Nana Beyeeman added that with this new connection, the Traditional Council will send a delegation to Ivory Coast to strengthen their family bonds.

He warmly welcomed the ambassador and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity, peace, and development across the Anyi Kingdom.
