A total of 92 persons with disabilities in the Juaboso District have received support from the District Assembly Common Fund under the Disability Fund initiative.
The assistance, which covered the first and second quarters of the year, was aimed at empowering beneficiaries economically and improving their living standards. According to the Juaboso District Assembly, beneficiaries were selected based on assessments conducted by the assembly to identify their specific needs.

Out of the total number, 59 individuals received financial assistance to cater for medical bills, school fees. Additionally, 28 beneficiaries were provided with refrigerators, while 5 others received fufu-pounding machines to help them start or expand their businesses.
In total, GHC 28,436.97 was disbursed to support the beneficiaries, ensuring that each received meaningful assistance to enhance their livelihoods.

The District Chief Executive, Alexander Adu Quist, indicated that the assembly is committed to resourcing persons with disabilities to become more self-reliant. He explained that the assembly had also repaired a faulty water system belonging to the disability group, using GHC 6,300 from their fund to restore it for income generation.
As part of efforts to promote entrepreneurship among women with disabilities, the assembly is also setting up a container shop for Madam Brewaa, a physically challenged woman from Kokoasua, to start a provisions business. The initiative is expected to serve as a model to empower more women with disabilities in the district.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the government and the assembly for their continued support. Madam Brewaa, in particular, expressed joy and appreciation for the assistance, describing it as a life-changing opportunity that will help her become financially independent.
