The Western North Region remains one of the regions in Ghana facing serious challenges with poor road infrastructure. Juaboso District, located within the region, has not been exempted from this problem, as most of its roads are in deplorable condition.

The situation has made it difficult for farmers to transport their produce to the market for sale. Many residents also struggle to travel within the district due to the bad nature of the roads, especially during the rainy season when vehicles cannot access certain areas.
In response, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Juaboso, Alexander Adu Quist, in collaboration with the District Roads Coordinator, has begun reshaping key roads across the district to improve transportation and accessibility.
The project, which started on 2nd February 2026, covers the Ataakrom, Amankwahkrom, Kwame Baa stretch. It later moved to the Tanoh–Nsonyame road and, as of today, work is ongoing on the Antobia, Amadukrom stretch.

In an interview with legendreport , some residents who use these roads expressed their appreciation to the DCE and the Assembly for the intervention. They recounted how the Antobia–Amadukrom road was previously in such a poor state that pregnant women had to be carried on foot to the hospital during labour. They said during heavy rains, vehicles could not reach their communities, but the reshaping exercise has now brought relief.
The residents, however, appealed to the Assembly to ensure the reshaping project is sustained and not just a one-time effort.

Alexander Adu Quist disclosed that the project was initiated following directives from the Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, who instructed him to address the concerns of residents about the poor state of roads in the area.
According to the DCE, although the Assembly has limited resources, they managed to secure support from some individuals and stakeholders to begin the reshaping works.
He further mentioned that the Assembly has developed an internal schedule to ensure that every community with poor roads in the district will benefit in due time. Adu Quist assured residents that all bad roads in Juaboso District will be reshaped to enhance movement and promote economic activities.
