The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Juaboso, Mr. Alexander Adu Quist, has pledged to construct a market for the people of Asempaneye. This promise was made during his ongoing familiarization tour across the district, which began on Monday, May 12, 2025.The purpose of the tour is to formally introduce himself to traditional leaders and the local communities.
The DCE commenced the tour in the Asempaneye Electoral Area, visiting communities including Nkra, Eteso, Dome, Asempaneye, and Breman.Addressing residents at Asempaneye, Mr. Adu Quist acknowledged the town’s historical significance, stating that during the era of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Asempaneye was part of the then Bia District, a time when Juaboso had not yet attained district status. He emphasized the need to revive Asempaneye’s status and importance through concrete development efforts.
One of the major issues he highlighted was the absence of a market in the Asempaneye Electoral Area. According to him, the Assembly is working on plans to construct a market to enhance economic activity. He noted that markets play a vital role in community development by attracting traders and boosting revenue mobilization.“It is not fair that people from Asempaneye have to travel to Asawinso, Juaboso, and other towns just to trade,” he said.

“We are committed to building a market to serve this community.”Mr. Adu Quist, who hails from Asempaneye himself, encouraged residents to support development efforts by paying their dues and taxes to the Assembly. He explained that without local contributions, it would be difficult to justify or sustain projects in the community. He also urged residents to follow proper building regulations by acquiring permits from the Assembly before starting any construction. “You cannot build a house without a permit,” he stated, adding that the Assembly plays a crucial role in planning and orderly community development.

Responding to concerns from communities, the DCE acknowledged challenges such as poor school infrastructure, lack of potable water, and inadequate street lighting. He assured them that the Assembly would do its best to address these issues and improve living conditions.Mr. Adu Quist also appealed to residents to desist from politicizing development initiatives. “Elections are over. It’s time to focus on developing the district,” he said.
“Even though I am a member of the NDC, I am here to serve all the people of Juaboso.”As part of the tour, he donated medical supplies to the Eteso and Asempaneye CHPS compounds.
