Juaboso DCE Promises New Transformer to Resolve Power Crisis

Residents of Juaboso are grappling with a persistent power outage that has left nearly half of the township in darkness for about two days following a heavy rainstorm.

The situation arose after the storm destroyed one of the main transformers supplying electricity to the area, disrupting power to several homes and businesses.

Speaking on the development, the District Chief Executive for Juaboso, Alexander Adu Quist, stated that the issue only came to his attention two days ago, noting that no local authorities had formally reported the problem to his office earlier.

According to him, he has since engaged engineers from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), who confirmed that the transformer was severely damaged by the rainstorm and requires replacement.

The DCE explained that ECG engineers have already escalated the issue to the appropriate authorities for the provision of a new transformer. He assured residents that he is working closely with the power distribution company to expedite the process and restore electricity as soon as possible.

Mr. Adu Quist also urged residents to promptly report challenges within the district to his office, emphasizing that timely communication would enable authorities to respond more effectively rather than relying on delayed information.

He appealed to the public to remain calm while efforts are underway to secure and install a new transformer to restore stable power supply in the affected areas.
