The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Juaboso, Hon. Alexander Adu Quist, has fulfilled his promise by leading a joint operation with the District Security Taskforce to clear market women off the main road of Juaboso.
The exercise, which took place today, was aimed at relocating all traders from the streets into the designated market space. According to the DCE, the operation is part of efforts to make Juaboso one of the cleanest towns in the district.
Hon. Adu Quist emphasized that selling on the roadside poses a great danger to the market women and the general public. “It’s not safe. These sellers risk their lives and can cause accidents. Roads are meant for vehicles, not for trading,” he stated.
He noted that a proper market space has been prepared for the traders, yet many continue to sell on the streets. He warned that the Assembly will no longer tolerate such behavior and assured the public that enforcement exercises will continue every market day.
“As the chairman of the District Security Council, I will ensure that this operation continues until all sellers relocate to the market,” he said.
This operation was a joint effort between the Juaboso District Assembly and the security services.
