Illegal mining activities, commonly known as galamsey, are ongoing at Boinzan Junction along the road connecting Juaboso Nkwanta and Boinzan in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.
The operations are taking place directly at the back Anglican Clinic, a health facility that serves residents of Boinzan and nearby communities. The situation has raised serious concerns among medical staff and patients who say the activities are disrupting healthcare services.
Investigations by legendreport reveal that the noise from excavators and other mining equipment at the site has become unbearable for patients receiving treatment at the clinic. Some health workers say the loud sounds and vibrations interfere with their work and disturb patients’ recovery.
Excavators were spotted working close to the clinic and near the main road that links Juaboso Nkwanta and Boinzan.
