Juaboso District: Police Command Reviews 2025 Performance

The Juaboso District Assembly has held a stakeholders’ meeting to review the performance of various departments for the year 2025.

As part of the review, the District Police Commander, Superintendent Isaac Ostin, presented a detailed account of the police command’s operations and crime statistics for the year under review.

According to Supt. Ostin, the command recorded the following cases in 2025:

Robbery: 2

Murder: 2

Illegal mining activities: 3

Illegal tree felling: 3

Assault: 194

Defilement: 6

Causing harm: 17

Stealing: 217

Rape: 1

Defrauding by false pretence: 20

Threat of death: 47

Threats: 25

Offensive conduct: 26

He noted that several road accidents were also recorded in the district during the year, some of which resulted in fatalities.

Supt. Ostin added that many of the reported cases are currently before the courts, while others have already been determined. He revealed that three armed robbers were sentenced to a total of 90 years imprisonment with hard labour.

He further disclosed that about five people drowned in abandoned galamsey pits within mining communities in the district.

The Police Commander called on all stakeholders, particularly in mining areas, to ensure that abandoned mining pits are properly covered after operations to prevent further loss of life.

He assured the public that the Juaboso District Police Command remains committed to maintaining peace, security, and safety throughout the district.
