Residents of Juaboso have commended the District Chief Executive, Alexander Adu Quist, for his swift intervention to address a dangerous section of road within the district.
The contractor working on the Juaboso Afere Junction to Karlo stretch is currently on site, actively executing the project. Particular attention has been given to a severely eroded section between the Juaboso District Assembly and Afere Junction, which has long posed a threat to motorists and has been a frequent cause of accidents.

According to residents, the deteriorated portion of the road has been a major concern over the years. They expressed appreciation for the DCE’s decision to engage the contractor to urgently fix the area, describing it as a timely and necessary move.
They further appealed to the contractor to install clear road signs to guide motorists and ensure the safe movement of goods and passengers while construction is ongoing, in order to minimize accidents.

Speaking on the development, the DCE, Alexander Adu Quist, acknowledged the risks associated with the affected stretch, describing it as “very dangerous and prone to accidents. He explained that after discussions with the contractor, an agreement was reached to prioritize the rehabilitation of that section to improve safety and ensure smooth transportation.
He revealed that, unlike previous attempts, the contractor will not use bitumen for the reconstruction but will instead apply rigid pavement blocks. According to him, past use of bitumen on that stretch has proven ineffective, as it deteriorates quickly due to braking pressure from drivers and riders at that point.

The DCE further assured residents that all necessary materials are available for the project and expressed confidence that the contractor will expedite work and complete it within schedule.
He also urged drivers and motor riders to exercise patience and cooperate with the contractor during the construction period, noting that although movement may be temporarily slow, the long-term benefits will significantly improve road safety.

Legendreport will continue to monitor and provide updates on the progress of the project.
