The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Juaboso, Mr Alexander Adu Quist, has paid a working visit to the Juaboso-Amoaya road construction site to assess ongoing works and help resolve challenges faced by the contractors. This visit followed a meeting in which the contractors called on the DCE in his office to introduce themselves and discuss the difficulties they are encountering on the project.
During the site inspection, the contractors highlighted a major issue involving a culvert that was originally constructed in the middle of the road. However, someone has since blocked the culvert and built a house on the site, obstructing the planned reconstruction. The DCE noted with concern that the only feasible way to redirect the culvert would be through some existing homes.

He described this situation as unfortunate but necessary, as the structure was built illegally in a waterway without proper permits. Adu Quist used the opportunity to advise all residents and landowners to acquire the necessary building permits from the Assembly before starting any construction.
We will not allow people to build indiscriminately and cause problems for future development. As we are seeing today, one person’s indiscipline is delaying a major public project,” he stressed.
The site engineer, Mr. Joseph from Timeline Construction, expressed appreciation to the DCE for his support. He assured the DCE that with the Assembly’s backing, work on the culvert would begin within two weeks.

Mr. Joseph also raised concerns about the lack of support from some community members. “Instead of offering help, some residents are constantly criticizing our work without understanding it.
We encourage them to come to us or the Assembly for clarification rather than spreading negativity,” he stated.
The DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the contractors to ensure the timely completion of the project for the benefit of the entire district.
