Juasec Still Awaits President Mahama’s Promise of a School Bus

Western North region

Juaboso Senior High School in the Western North Region is still waiting for the fulfillment of a promise made by President John Dramani Mahama during his recent visit to the community.

On June 14, 2025, during his tour of the Western North Region, President Mahama arrived in Juaboso by helicopter and made a stop at Juaboso Senior High School. During his interaction with the students, the students made a heartfelt appeal, loudly requesting a school bus to help ease their transportation challenges.

In response, President Mahama assured them that their request had been heard, and he promised to provide a bus for the school. However, several months later, the school is yet to receive the promised vehicle.

Some students who were present during the president’s visit have expressed disappointment that the promise has not been fulfilled. They shared their concerns, especially as the school has recently been selected to participate in the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) competition. Unfortunately, due to the lack of a school bus, transporting the students and staff to the competition venue has become a major challenge.

The community is now appealing once again to President Mahama to honour his promise and support the school by providing the much-needed bus. The absence of proper transportation continues to affect not only academic outings but also the general mobility of staff and students for important programs.

Juaboso Senior High School continues to face serious transportation difficulties, and stakeholders are calling on the government and well-meaning individuals to intervene.
