The Kofi Morgan Foundation has successfully held the 1st Edition of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Forum at Gbekor Senior High School in Abuadi-Adaklu, Volta Region, on 18th December 2024.

Organised under the Foundation’s Rural & Community Development Initiative, the forum aimed to create a collaborative platform for students, educators, and stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions about sustainable development and the global SDG agenda.

The event sought to achieve two main objectives:

  1. Raising Awareness – Enhancing understanding and knowledge about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and their importance in achieving a sustainable and equitable future for all.
  2. Influencing Policy – Encouraging advocacy for policies that accelerate the implementation of SDG-related initiatives and ensure accountability at all levels in Ghana.

The forum marked a significant milestone in empowering young people to take active roles in localising the SDGs within their schools and communities.

The Kofi Morgan Foundation expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the leadership and staff of Gbekor Senior High School for their invaluable collaboration and commitment to the success of the programme.

The Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to promoting education, advocacy, and community-driven development as key pathways toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Ghana.
