The Chief of Enchi Kwawu, Nana Tano Kabaah II, and MCE for Aowin mr.stephen Morcher have mobilized funds to rehabilitate their badly deteriorated road network, which has become a major concern for residents.
The Enchi to Elubo road, which connects several key communities in the Aowin Municipality, is in a deplorable state, making it extremely difficult and dangerous for people—especially traders and pregnant women—to travel.
Nana Tano Kabaah II stated that the road is the only major highway linking the communities in the area. Its poor condition has negatively affected economic activities and put the lives of residents at risk. As a result, he felt compelled to take action.

In response, the chief contacted the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Aowin to request support through the District Road Improvement Programme. With the help of the MCE, road construction machinery was made available, and also with them with fueling the machinery.
Determined to see the road improved, the chief and residents raised funds to cover the costs and began filling the most dangerous potholes to make the road motorable.

Nana Kabaah II appealed to the government, particularly the Minister of Roads and Highways, to intervene. He explained that although the road was previously under construction, the contractor had unexpectedly abandoned the project. He urged the authorities to ensure that the necessary documents are completed to bring the contractor back to the site to continue the work.
Mr. Morro Adamu, the Assembly Member for the Nkwanta area, also expressed concern. He revealed that many residents are cocoa farmers, but the poor road conditions have made it difficult to transport cocoa beans to the municipal capital for sale.

He added that pregnant women face significant challenges when trying to access maternity care due to the road’s state. While he acknowledged the community’s efforts to fill the most critical sections, he emphasized that the government must step in urgently to reconstruct the road and relieve the suffering of the people.
