Legendreport Achieve Positive Result in Akontombra District

Journalism is not only about reporting issues but also about making an impact that improves lives in communities and society at large. Telling impactful stories gives a voice to the voiceless and drives development.

In June 2025, legendreport.com reported that a police station project in the Sefwi Akontombra District, which began around 2013 and was completed in 2024, had still not been opened for use.

During that report, legendreport.com reporter Emmanuel Sowah spoke with the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Akontombra, Mr. Joseph Appiah. The DCE explained that although the building had been completed, some minor works remained undone. He mentioned the absence of an electricity meter and lack of access to water as key challenges, adding that the Assembly was working to address them before commissioning the facility for public use.

Today, legendreport.com can confirm that the Akontombra Police Station has officially been commissioned and handed over for use by the Ghana Police Service. All the additional works promised by the DCE, including water and electricity connections, have been completed, making the facility fully operational.

This success story demonstrates the power of impactful journalism, which Onua News continues to champion, telling stories that bring change and development to our communities.
