Man Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Woman in the Eyes at Abrokofe

Police at Boinzan under Juaboso District Police Command are investigating a shocking case in which a 55-year-old man, identified as William Gyamfi, also known as Kwasi Manso, allegedly stabbed a woman, Akua Agyeiwaa, in both eyes during a confrontation on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Sefwi Abrokofe in Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

According to a report filed by Solomon Aha, the Unit Committee Chairman of Sefwi Abrokofe, the incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. following a misunderstanding between the suspect and the victim. The injured woman was rushed to the Juaboso Government Hospital for emergency treatment.

Upon receiving the complaint at about 9:37 p.m., police issued a medical form for the victim’s treatment and informed the District Police Commander, Superintendent Isaac Ostin. A night patrol team led by Inspector Ofori Ampaw was dispatched to assist in arresting the suspect.

Shortly after, the suspect was brought to the station by his son, Oppong Malik, with visible injuries, including a swollen left eye, bruised forehead, and bleeding leg. The son explained that his father was attacked by some residents following the alleged stabbing. Gyamfi was send to hospital for treatment and discharged at the Juaboso Government Hospital and has since been detained to assist with ongoing investigations.

Police are yet to visit the crime scene to gather further evidence.
