A tragic incident has occurred in the Offinso North district of Ghana’s Ashanti region, where a man in his early 30s, known as Akwasi Grusi, was shot and killed by his neighbor. According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened midday when Akwasi Grusi borrowed his neighbor’s motorbike and returned it in a damaged state.
The neighbor confronted Akwasi Grusi over the damage, leading to a fight that was eventually settled by onlookers. However, the situation escalated when Akwasi Grusi claimed that his neighbor owed him some arrears and went to his neighbor’s house to demand payment. This sparked another altercation, resulting in Akwasi Grusi being shot twice in the chest.
Akwasi Grusi was rushed to the nearby Nkenkaasu Government Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The body has been deposited at the Nkenkaasu mortuary. The police have arrested the suspect at Asuosu in the Offinso North district.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and residents are demanding justice for the deceased. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
