The management of Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School in the Western North Region has intensified enforcement of school rules and regulations to restore discipline among students.
According to the Headmaster, Mr. Prince Abubakari, the school, once known for its high level of discipline, had in recent times experienced increasing cases of misconduct among students, including bullying, fighting, and drug abuse.

Speaking during the school’s Nine Lessons and Carols Night on Wednesday, 18th December 2025, Mr. Abubakari expressed concern over the growing indiscipline, stating that some students had even attacked their teachers and engaged in fights between day students and boarders.
“When I assumed office about three months ago, I observed worrying levels of misconduct among some students. Together with management, we decided to strengthen the school’s rules and enforce strict disciplinary measures to restore order,” he said.

He cautioned that any student found misbehaving would face severe sanctions. “Boarders who misbehave will either be deboardinized or suspended, while day students will also be suspended depending on the gravity of the offense,” he emphasized.
Mr. Abubakari noted that the new measures were already yielding positive results, as students were beginning to show improved behavior. He added that the goal was to create a safe and conducive learning environment for both students and teachers.

He urged all students to remain disciplined and focused on their studies, reminding them that they are in school to build a better future for themselves.

The PTA Chairman for the Western North Region, Nana Kwasi Bennie, also addressed the gathering and advised students to avoid drug abuse and other acts of misconduct. “Students should remember they came here to learn and secure a better future. Drugs destroy dreams and reputations,” he cautioned.

Nana Bennie also extended festive wishes to the students and staff, praying for God’s blessings as the year draws to a close.
