Minister Endorses Minds Impact Foundation as Anti-Drug Ambassadors

by Emmanuel Sowah

The Western North Regional Minister, Mr. Wilbert Petty Brentum, has officially endorsed Minds Impact Foundation as ambassadors in the fight against drug abuse among the youth in Ghana.

This endorsement came during a courtesy call by the foundation’s team, led by its founder, Mr. Evans Apochi, to the Minister’s office. The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the organization and share its vision of curbing drug abuse among young people in the region and across the country.

Mr. Apochi highlighted that the foundation, a non-governmental organization, is committed to raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and educating the youth on its harmful effects on health, personal development, and the future of the nation.

“Our aim is to educate and empower the youth to make better life choices and stay away from drugs. We believe that with the right information and support, we can save many lives and secure a brighter future for our country,” Mr. Apochi stated.

In response, Hon. Brentum commended the foundation for its commitment to tackling a critical issue that continues to affect the lives of many young people. He described drug abuse as a growing concern and shared a personal encounter with a young man under the influence of a substance, which deeply troubled him.

“Drug abuse has sadly taken center stage among our youth. It is heartbreaking to see the future of our country being destroyed by these harmful substances. The work of Minds Impact Foundation is timely and commendable,” he said.

The Minister pledged his full support for the foundation’s activities, promising to mobilize all Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) in the region to collaborate with the group to organize educational programs for the youth.

“As the Regional Minister, I officially endorse Minds Impact Foundation as ambassadors against drug abuse. I will use every resource within my capacity to support your cause,” he declared.

He encouraged the foundation’s leadership to stay committed to their mission, emphasizing that while the impact may not be immediately visible, the long-term benefits to society will be significant.

“You are on a noble path. Don’t give up. Continue the good work, and one day the results will speak for themselves,” Mr. Brentum concluded.
