The Mortuaries and Funeral Facilities Agency has shut down Enchi government hospital mortuary and others for various irregularities.
The Registrar of the Mortuaries and Funeral Facilities, Francis Ennin, and his team have embarked on compliance exercise at the various mortuaries in the Western North Region.
In the course of the exercise, the Enchi government hospital mortuary and Agyapa Funeral Home were temporary shut down for various irregularities.
The facilities were operating without due registration, using air conditioner instead of compressors, unregistered staff, unconducive environment, and among others.
The team led by Francis Ennin ordered the facility bearers to comply with the regulations before they would be allowed to operate. He said the exercise was not to collapse any business, but to ensure sanity in the agency.
