Nana Tano Kaabah II Sponsors Ultimate Prize for Western North Youth Reading Festival

The Western North Youth Reading Festival for Senior High Schools is scheduled to take place on 28th November 2025, with Nana Tano Kaabah II, Chief of Enchi Kwawu and Akwamuhene of the Aowin Traditional Council, sponsoring the ultimate prize for the competition.

The reading festival is being organized by the Teacher Amoako Foundation, the Western North Development Association, and the Ghana Education Service. The initiative seeks to empower students in the region and promote a strong literacy culture among the youth.

A total of seven senior high schools will participate in the event. These include Sefwi Wiawso Senior High School, Sefwi Wiawso Senior High Technical School, Asawinso Senior High School, Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School, Awaso STEM Senior High School, and Queen’s Girls Senior High School.

The winning school will receive a cash prize of ₵4,000, while the first runner-up will take home ₵2,000 and the second runner-up will receive ₵1,000. The ultimate prize is sponsored by Nana Tano Kaabah II to encourage students to improve their reading and literacy skills.

Nana Tano Kaabah II has consistently demonstrated his commitment to supporting education and youth development in the Western North Region. His sponsorship of the reading festival reflects his dedication to human resource development and capacity building within the community.

Organizers believe the event will inspire students to cultivate the habit of reading and strengthen their academic foundation.
