Nkoranza South MCE Hits the Ground Running with Familiarization Tour

Nkoranza, Ghana – Mr, Godfred Dapaa, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkoranza South Municipality, has embarked on a familiarization tour across the municipality to engage with residents and better understand the challenges facing various communities.

Mr Dapaa emphasized that the tour serves both as an introduction to his leadership and a fact-finding mission to develop targeted solutions that will improve the living standards of constituents.

“Engaging directly with the people is essential. It allows me to understand their struggles and tailor government responses to meet their actual needs,” he stated.

During the tour, the MCE encountered several recurring concerns including youth unemployment, which he described as a pressing issue. Many young people shared their frustration over the lack of job opportunities. Other major concerns included inadequate infrastructure—notably electricity extension, access to potable water, poor street lighting, lack of educational materials and teacher accommodation, as well as limited healthcare access.

Security issues were also highlighted, with specific reference to tensions involving Fulani herdsmen and their cattle. Residents also expressed alarm over rising drug abuse among youth, and alleged that police corruption undermines justice when offenders are caught.

In response, Mr. Dapaa called on assembly members to compile lists of unemployed school graduates and submit them to his office. He assured the public that employment opportunities would be explored as they arise.

He further emphasized the need for unity among traditional leaders, urging them to collaborate with his office to support development initiatives.

“As I embark on this familiarization tour, the needs of the people of Nkoranza South are not just concerns—they are responsibilities I must fulfill,” mr,Dapaa affirmed. “I am committed to driving positive change and delivering meaningful impact in the lives of our residents.”

He concluded by encouraging chiefs and opinion leaders to strengthen their unity and commitment to ensure the collective progress of the municipality.
