No Return to Juaboso: Martha Kwayie Manu Announces New Political Plans

By Emmanuel Sowah

Former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Martha Kwayie Manu, has declared her intention to pursue a new political ambition within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western North Region, but outside the Juaboso Constituency.

The experienced politician disclosed that she is no longer interested in contesting any future parliamentary elections in Juaboso, where she had previously represented the NPP in several polls.

Martha Kwayie Manu made history as the first female parliamentary candidate date for the Juaboso Constituency, contested in the 2012, 2016, and 2020 general elections. She also for in four NPP parliamentary primaries, with her most recent bid in 2023 ending in defeat to Dr. Alexander Ampaabeng.

Her political career has been a trailblazing one for women in the Western North Region. She served as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Juaboso from 2017 to 2020 before her appointment as Deputy CEO of the Forestry Commission.

Martha Kwayie Manu remains one of the few female politicians in the region who has consistently contributed to the growth of the NPP, the development of her constituency, and the advancement of the region and nation at large.

She made her announcement during an interview on Juaboso-based Radio Rainbow’s Morning Show, hosted by Alaska Joe Junior.

The Legend Political Desk is closely monitoring developments and will provide updates on the specific position she intends to contest in the region.
