The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken steps to summon the Bono Regional Chairman, Mr. Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, before its National Disciplinary Committee following concerns about his recent public conduct.
This decision was taken at a meeting held by the party’s National Steering Committee on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. According to the committee, the meeting resolved to invite all individuals who have publicly declared their intentions to contest in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries to a joint session with the Steering Committee and the National Council of Elders.

Among the key resolutions was the referral of Mr. Kwame Baffoe to the Disciplinary Committee for breaching party directives. The committee expressed concern that despite previous cautions issued to him by the National Council regarding unguarded public commentary, Abronye has persisted in making remarks that violate the party’s code of conduct.
Of particular concern to the leadership is Abronye’s recent behavior on his newly launched television station, where he has been critical of Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, a prominent member of the party and a potential presidential aspirant. Though Abronye had initially stated that his media platform would promote the ideals and unity of the party, his continued attacks on Mr. Agyapong are seen as divisive and damaging to internal cohesion.

The NPP leadership has scheduled a meeting with Mr. Kwame Baffoe on Thursday to discuss his actions and to determine the next course of action in accordance with the party’s constitution and disciplinary procedures.
