The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold its flagbearership election on January 31, 2026, to elect a presidential candidate for the 2028 general elections.
The aspirants contesting in this race include:
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
Dr. Bryan Acheampong
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum
Ing. Kwabena Adjei Agyapong.
In a local opinion poll conducted by Kwame Kontong Boateng, the morning show host of a Sefwi-Bekwai based radio station, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong emerged as the preferred choice among respondents in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency.
A total of 280 people participated in the poll, expressing their preferred choice among the five aspirants. The results were as follows:
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong 52%
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia 44%
Dr. Bryan Acheampong 1.4%
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum

Ing. Kwabena Adjei Agyapong –0.36%
According to participants, Kennedy Agyapong’s appeal lies in his commitment to job creation, bold leadership, and dedication to party unity.
Many respondents believe he is the best candidate to reform the party and advance the interests of ordinary Ghanaians, particularly the youth.
